Safer Internet Day 2017

Safer Internet Day 2017 was celebrated on Tuesday 7th February 2017. This international annual event takes place every February to promote safe and responsible use of the internet and mobile phone technologies, especially amongst children and young people.

Just like with past years, the safer internet day celebrations included local, national and international events organised by a broad variety of organisations ranging from schools and youth clubs to industry, civil society and local and national government agencies.

The theme for Safer Internet Day 2017 was "Be the change: Unite for a better internet". In Ireland Safer Internet Day is promoted by the PDST Technology in Education and Webwise. It is strongly supported by the Safer Internet Ireland Project.
