The International Telecommunications Union , a United Nations organisation, has published draft Guidelines on Child Online Protection. Comments on the draft Guidelines can be submitted to email:
cop@itu.int by 30 June 2009. It is expected that the final Guidelines will be presented at the ITU Telecom World 2009 which will be held in Geneva on 5 - 9 October 2009.
Four versions of the Guidelines have been prepared addressing diverse audiences, namely:
- Children
- Parents & Educators
- Industry
- Policymakers.
The Child Online Protection (COP) initiative has been developed by the ITU along with UN agencies and other partners as part of ITU's Global Cybersecurity Agenda.
